Author Biography

Felix Shipkevich is an attorney with an extensive corporate, financial, and futures industry background representing banks, broker-dealers, futures and foreign exchange firms. He is admitted to practice law in the States of New York and Connecticut, as well before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He is also admitted as a solicitor before the courts of England and Wales. His extensive experiences in the futures and securities industries includes include working at financial institutions such as UBS, Bear Stearns, AIG, New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Mr. Shipkevich also previously practiced and litigated complex insurance coverage, general liability, and product liability, and securities cases as an attorney for a New York law firm. Since 2006, he has been working as vice president and general counsel at Capital Market Services, LLC, where he is responsible for the supervision of the firm's and its affiliate offices in New York, Bermuda, Shanghai, St. Petersburg, and Tokyo. He is also responsible for corporate and litigation matters in addition to his current oversight of compliance, which includes trading, order handling, training, clearance and regulatory affairs across the firm's affiliates and subsidiaries.

Mr. Shipkevich is the author of numerous articles in the areas of foreign exchange, futures and commodities. Mr. Shipkevich graduated from Hofstra University School of Law, where he was a founder and managing editor of the Journal of International Business & Law.
