Flash memory card maker SanDisk Corp. (SNDK) said Monday it has
agreed to acquire Pliant Technology, Inc., a developer of
enterprise solid state drives, for about $327 million in cash and
certain equity-based incentives. The deal enables the company to
enter the fast-growing enterprise storage market. The transaction,
approved by the boards of directors of both companies, is expected
to close by the end of SanDisk's second fiscal quarter.
